Ok the previous post was about lookin good, well this one . . . is a ????
Now immediately, when I saw this picture I thought, he must be a batty boy, but reading the comments from himself and others on facebook . . . I had a some other opnions . . .
When we see a man, dressed fashionably or say haute couture - why do we automatically assume he's gay? Can men not generally love fashion?
Could this be the wave of the future?
In the 70s men wore more interesting outfits than this . . . why is it not socially acceptable now?
Opinions anyone??

Well HDP do you think its a cultural ignorance that would make some people think that this would be unacceptable> Or even a fashion ignorance? I believe that it looks nice on him and if the lady that was with him (i saw the pic on your page) was comfortable with him then noone should have anything to say to the contrary. If it was me I would just make sure we looked good together can't have him look better then me :)
ReplyDeleteNO!!!!!!!!!!!!! I want to cry looking at this picture, seriously O am lost for word, only tears speak for me....
ReplyDelete@Meeks . . . I'm honestly NOT SURE, that's why I am asking. I watched the Soul Train special a few nights ago and LAWD the outfits the men & women then were wearing was OUTRAGEOUS. So if these outlandish outfits were acceptable then, why not now? Why is it gay? Maybe it is fashion ignorance.
ReplyDeleteIf Kanye or Will.I.Am wore these pants would we call them gay?
this pic is tuff..people r scared of fashion i always have a saying.."I WEAR WHAT U FEAR" this means that most dude want to wear it but there afraid of thr reaction they will gate.fashion is what u make it..society listen to designers say whats in fashion why do u need to listen to them...its funny that ive been wearing my studded glasses and combat boots for two years and people laughed and now everybody wearing..its also a big fashionnow in jamaica.skinny jeans or straights jeans with combat boots and big sunglasses with something crazy on them....i feel so good to b ahead in fashion.
ReplyDeletewell fashion is all about self expression and being comfortable in what you choose to wear. however by experience it isn't without its biases. Even the most well-dressed of men are questioned because their high level of passion for fashion and desire to not to be the norm. In the past I have had women ask me if I was gay JUST because how particular I was with my clothes, attention to detail and how well it was put together without a woman's help. Now i would NEVER wear this LOL but is it fair to judge a man who would: NO but sadly I probably would. So I too am guilty.
ReplyDeleteinteresting take from the 2 most fashionable men i know!! i have to agree with chet though, it's not fair to judge but sorry, i'd think he's gay for this outfit as well.
